Certificate of the assumption of the toga pura (or toga virilis) by a young Roman man, marking the end of his childhood; this certificate might have been needed if the young man was the son of a veteran, who would have got the rights to Roman citizenship after his birth, when his father retired from military service

Extract from the album of (assumptions of) the toga pura:
[In the consulship of Servius Scipio] Salvidienus Orfitus and Lucius Peducaeus [Pristinus, - - -] in the [13th?] year of the Emperor Caesar [Nerva Traianus Augustus] Germanicus Dacicus [- - -] in Alexandria ad Aegyptum, a copy was made and verified from a record (posted) in the forum of Augustus, [in which was written that which is written below(?)]
[- - -] Iulianus, son of Marcus, of the Pollian tribe [records his son - - -] to have assumed the [toga] pura [- - -]
