Translation
Sempronius to his mother and lady Satornila, very many greetings. Before everything I pray for your good health and that also of my sweetest brothers, and at the same time I make daily supplication for you before the lord Sarapis. Because I found someone who is coming to you upstream, I hurried to greet you by a letter. Do please, my lady, without delay write to me about your welfaree, so that I may feel less anxiety. [Another time] I shall write to you about my cloths. [- - - (15 lines too damaged to be translated) - - -]
Sempronius to his brother Maximus, very many greetings. Before everything I pray for your good health. I have received a letter from you in which you write to me that you have sent me two letters. Know, brother, that I have only received one. You write to me about Lobotes that - - -. It is not easy to please everybody. Because of the annoyance - - -. Do not blame me as if I were neglectful. - - - but all the things you have said to me I have fulfilled, and pretty soon they will be sent to you through - - -. Greetings to your wife and children. Goodbye, brother.
