Conservation Status
This medium-brown papyrus is regularly cut off at all sides except at the bottom, where it appears to have been torn off. The sheet is in a fairly good condition with only minor damages.
Palaeographic Description
The handwriting may be assigned to the sixth century A.D., cf. P. Graec. Berol. 45 (525 A.D.) and P. Lugd. Bat. XIX 21 (6th century A.D.). Though written in a quick semicursive hand, the text leaves an elegant impression, not least because of the straightness of the lines and the regularity of the hand. Upper margin is approximately 1.7 cm., left margin varying between 0.5 cm. and 1 cm., and at the right the writing extends to the edge of the papyrus in lines 1 and 5. At the bottom, line 7 is practically lost as the sheet breaks off between lines 6 and 7, leaving only traces of the writing on line 7.

Content
This papyrus contains the beginning of a letter addressed to a landowner (geouchos). The sender, Apa Hor, reports on the activities of one Peter, an assistant (boethos) connected with the Oxyrhynchite village of Tholthis. We learn that Peter entered a hamlet (epoikion) belonging to the landowner and perpetrated an act described by the verb epiasen. At this point the sheet breaks off and leaves us in the dark about the sequel.
