Conservation Status
The papyrus, complete but rather damaged in the left half. On the recto side and in the left hand side top section the papyris forms a folding overlaping itself (as it seems, already when it was written). A sheet-join on the right hand side.
Palaeographic Description
The hand of the first receipt (lines 1-12) is a large, upright, flowing cursive with long flourishes o final alphas, sigmas and nus. The date (lines 13-16) was added by a second hand in the wide margin to the left. In the blank space below this date a third hand wrote another receipt (lines 17-28) seven years later

Translation
Aurelii Pale and Atammon and their associate apodektai of Leukogion harbor to Aurelii Pelenios, Selpous, Isidoros, heron, and Ammonas, from the village of Karanis, greeting. We have received from you in the said Leukogion harbor on account of the sowing of the twentieth year one hundred thirty-five artabs of wheat including (a surcharge of) ten hundredths, 135 art. total, no other receipt being applicable. I, Aurelius Atammon, wrote the whole.
(2nd hand) In the consulship for the second time of our masters Constantinus and Licinius Augusti, Hathyr 8th.
(3rd hand) In the consulship of our masters Constantinus Augustus, (consul) for the fifth time, and Licinius the most illustrious Caesar, (consul) for the first time, Choiak 24th. Aurelii Harpokras, Sarapion, Apollonios, and Syrion, apaitetai of the city, to Aurelii Heron and Isidoros, gretting. We have received from you, for the sowing of imperial lands of the eighth indiction, six and a half artabs of wheat, 6 1/2 art. total; and on the 25th, likewise the same persons for the same indiction, for imperial sowing, one-half artab of wheat, 1/2 art. total, no other receipt for seven artabs of wheat being applicable. I, Sarapion, have signed.
(verso): receipt of grain for the sowing of imperial lands.
