Native hafting of flint knife: The pointed end of the knife blade is inserted in a slot cut in the pine wood handle and cemented with pitch. It is warpped wihta splint that is anchored at one end oby a knot and at the center by insertion into a slit in the handle. Chas Wray, 1550-1575.
