Ann Arbor Mi ch..y dear sir:Your letter of the 28th ult. just received, calling attention to the bill of Senator Walthall of Mississippi, wi th reference to securingfurther grants of land to the several states of the Union, for the e ne fit of the state universities. I beg to assure you that a bill that shall have a tendency to equalize the distribution of lands to the several st at es, which as in this case ben:fits our own university, will have my he arty support when it comes up. MY interest in the university increases as the years go by, and I should feel as if I had neglected my duty, did I neglect to support a measure of this kind. Yours very truly, y -
