How would you characterize the influence of the University of Michigan on your life?

Among all the institutions of which I have been a student and Faculty member none seemed to be so th[o]rough and exact. As I think of the University its strength was all along scholastic lines. The social life of non fraternity men and women was singularly lacking. Chicago does that much better, so does Columbia. Also the University of Michigan has never given women a chance on its faculty as I see it compared to other colleges.
