JOHN R. WILLIAMS, PRES. - GEN MNGR DR. S. W. JENKINS, VICE PRES. - TREASURER Detroit Negro Base Ball Association (Presenting Only The Best In Negro Base Ball) At the BRIGGS STADIUM DETROIT, MICHIGAN OFFICE 537 MARSTON STREET PHONE: TRINITY 1-4949 April 27, 1942 Mr. Jack Zeller, General Manager Briggs Statium Detroit, Michigan My dear Mr. Zeller: I was very happy to see so very many colored fans at the game Saturday and Sunday, and I say with humble pride that our presentation of colored baseball at the Briggs Stadium last year stimulated a greater interest in the colored citizens of Detroit for baseball. As it should be, that interest will constantly reflect itself in better attendance at all games played at Briggs Stadium; indeed, Mr. "Spike" Briggs and I noted exactly that very thing last year after we both happily reviewed the situa- tion following the game between the Kansas City Monarchs and the Chicago American Giants. I dare say that we will be able to carry the interest on and on throughout the present season after our first game on June 7. By the way, please let me know as soon as possible when the tickets will be on sale. Already I have been con- stantly asked that question by fans who are anxious to get their tickets early. Then too, Dr. Jenkins and I want to begin making our publicity -- goodwill tour around the state and, of course, we are going to be asked when the tickets will be available. Very truly yours, John R. Williams JRW:NMG
