Savannah Dec. 2nd. 74. My dear dear Auntie, It is about my bed-time but I am so con- stantly employed that if I don't steal time to write my letters I can't get it at all lately. I feel as if my well beloved cousin Will has gone off and left me, for I don't hear from him "once in a dog's age." Is he so busy too that he can't get time to write, or doesn't he care enough about Flo to do it? I am getting on bravely now though not very strong. - Flo describes her duties as principal at the Beach Institute for African American children. Provides a description of Savannah, mentions having been at the St. Augustine mission before her appointment as principal. Praises her maid, a colored woman "above her position. Social equality ideas to the contrary notwithstanding, I love her like my own sister."
