I John J. Williams of Jersey City in the Statae of New Jersey of the Age of forty eight years having been cautioned & sworn to testify what He knows about one Francis Cisco formerly of Hackinsack in sd state of New Jersey know him there as a slave to Garry Westerwell saw him after on Hollidays, some what older than myself Knew his Grand parents & Knew him the said Francis untill he left the state & also knew his Master & since I left the State I have known him [here?] first in New Haven & Know him to be the same person who is now on expence in this town & further Deponent saith not - John J X Williams {"his mark" written above and below the X} New Haven County ss Orange December 1st 1845 Personally appeared before me John J. Williams & after being Cautioned & sworn made the forgoing statement at the request of the select Men of Orange - Nehemiah Kimberly Justice of the Peace

- Deposition identifying Francis Cisco as an escaped slave from New Jersey; Williams "saw him often on Hollidays, somewhat older than myself Know his Grandparents & knew him…untill he left the state & also knew his Master..." Sanders claims to have seen "Francis Cisco who now I understand is in West Haven in this State I saw him here in this City about a year since…I Know he belongs in that State [New Jersey]."
