Stanley His Majesty's principal Secretary of State for the Colonial Department Engrossed in Memorial Book Sir, The General Committee of the Wesleyan Missionary Society avail themselves of the present opportunity to express their heartfelt gratitude to his Majesty's Government for the eloquent and powerful announcement lately made in the Commons House of Parliament of the great and righteous and righteous principle involving the Entire abolition of Colonial Slavery We now appear in the peculiar and distinctive character of representatives of an extensive society long and successfully engaged in imparting religious and moral instruction to the unhappy race for whose benefit the civil rights of British Subjects in compliance with the voice of a united nation, are about to be accorded. While therefore we have heartily joined with our fellow subjects to bring about, and now unfeignedly

Committee to Edward Stanley and praises the House of Commons for its recent announcement of the "Entire Abolition of Colonial Slavery." Argues the necessity for Parliament legislating that Afro-Carribeans be given religious freedom in the colonies, and that the persecution of missionaries end.
