State of Ohio Jefferson County ss - Seal Thomas M'paul personally came before me Geo. Day a Justice of the Peace of the County of Jefferson aforesaid at my office in Cross Creek Township in the County aforesaid on the 20 day of September AD 1822 between the hours of ten AM and three oclock PM who being by me carefully examined and Sworn to testify the whole truth in the cause now pending in the Court of Common pleas of Coshockton County Ohio wherein John Hutchison is Plaintif and William M'curdy defendant deposeth and Saith q by William Mccurdy did ever Alexander Hasson tel you that John Hutchison Got a negro woman with child while Said Hutchison Livd at George Ashbredge a he did and that Said Hutchison had absconded on account of the Same q - by Said Mcurdy did Alexander Hasson tel you that said George Ashbredge detaind upwards of one hundred dollars of Said Hutchison money that was in Said Ashbredges hands on acount of the negro woman being with child to the said Hutchison - a - he did - q - by Said Mccurdy did Alexander Hasson tel you that he had told me the above questions respecting the negro woman and Hutchison - a - he did - q - by Said M'curdy did you kno John Hutchison to tel [Lyes?] Lies - a - I did in two cases to my Self -
