Frankfort, Nov 28th 1820 Dear Sir Yours of the 5th October has just reached me. I have been here as a member of our Legislature since the 16th October, and have it not in my Power to answer specifically your several letters referred to. I can say that answers were sent or put in the mail to the whole and particularly your last. I wrote you particularly the situa tion of the negro woman. I will state again - that after the sale at 400 Dollars the negro was [dis] covered to have been diseased, and the contract was of course rescinded, the negro was sent down the River to be sold as she would not sell where she was known, the gentlemen who took her down left in my hands 200. Dollars and what ever sum she sold for after the Expenses were paid was to be accounted for, he has (I have learned just re turned,) and when I see him will settle the same and forward it on to you. Together with any sums I may have of your house Your claims against Bowens have been to day; continued in court upon the applica tions of Bowen he alledges they have been paid &c. any information you may have upon this subject please to communicate it Respectfully C. A. Wickliffe
