State of New Jersey Burlington County, ss. This is to Certify, that on the Twentieth day of January, seventeen Hundred and Ninety- four, Richard Potts of the Township of New Hanover in the County aforesaid, brought before us the subscribers, two of the Justices assigned to keep the Peace in the same county and two of the Overseers of the Poor in the Town= =ship aforesaid, his Negro Slave named Pompy Steward, who on View and Examination, appears to us to be sound of mind and not under any Bodily incapacity to obtain a livelyhood, and that he is not under Twenty-one years of age nor above Thirty-five. - In Witness, whereof, we have hereto subscribed our names, the day aforesaid.
