Capt Samuel Tuell Newport March 4th. 1772 You being Master of our Sloop Adventure are to observe the following orders viz With the first fair wind proceed from hence to the Coast of Africa Touching as far to windward as you may Judge for our advantage, & purchase what Slaves in your power proceeding down to the Gold Coast where endeavour to finish your Trade unless you have any prospect of doing better farther to Leeward, in which case you may Judge for our interest, either trading with the natives or Factories, as appears most advantageous - Taking care to purchase good Slaves and advise us by every opportunity of your doings not omitting to forward Copies of all your Letters & to make regular Protest upon every occasion necessary as our interest is Injured in London When you have finished your Trade on the Coast proceed to Barbados with all Dispatch & apply to Messrs. Stevenson & Went Merchts these whith whom you will find Lodged our further orders for your Governments. - As Mr. Brew offered the Last voyage to buy the Sloop of Capt Rogers - We therefore wou'd have you sell her to him if Possible on the following Terms viz - For four hundred pounds Sterling payable in prime Slaves on the Coast at Twenty pounds Sterling ahead together with a proper vessell in the Bargain to bring of your whole Cargo - of

Orders to captain of a slave ship to collect slaves in Africa and sell them in Barbados; "purchase what Slaves in your power proceeding down to the Gold Coast…When you have finished your Trade on the Coast proceed to Barbados." If they miss Barbados, they should proceed to St. Kitt's, "and if you cannot fetch St. Kitts proceed to St. Croix."
