About the construction

Description: This gable front Folk House has a pent roof between attic windows and the second level windows. The pent roof is repeated in the gable of the enclosed front porch. There is also a one story porch on the rear. The house sits on a cement block foundation and has aluminum siding. Detached garage.
Date Of Construction: ca. 1900
Context: This house was occupied by Ruben Lambarth in the 1940s, although a definite period of occupancy has not been determined. He retired from farming and went into partnership with his brother, Samuel, at Lambarth Hardware located at 109 E. Michigan Avenue. Mr. Lambarth was born in Lodi Township May 21, 1888 and died in 1968. A 1964 picture of the house shows clapboard on the bottom, and shingle siding on the second story.
