Description: This one-and-one-half story gable end Modern house has an enclosed vestibule entry.There is a one- story addition on the rear. The house sits on a cement block foundation and has aluminum siding. Detached garage.

Architect/Builder: Harry Harmon
Context: 314 N. Lewis was built by Harry Harmon as a rental property in 1942. An identical house sits at 324 N.Lewis. Geraldine and Charles Uphaus bought the house from Mr. Uphaus' uncle in 1947. Charles Uphaus was a member of the Saline Area Historical Society and Saline Historic District Commission. He was a local fireman who died in the line of duty. The Charles Uphaus Memorial Award was established to honor historic preservation effort in the area.
