Context
This National Register structure was once the home of Andrew and Edith Warren. Mr Warren was born in York Township, clerked in the village stores, owned a grocery store, and eventually bought and published the Saline Observer. He held various community posts such as township clerk and treasurer, president of the village council, village clerk and treasurer, justice of the peace, and postmaster. He married Edith Parsons, daughter of Cornelius Parsons in 1876. In the 1940s this building was used commercially as the Lockwood Funeral Home, later the Bahnmiller Funeral Home. Its builder, Elwood Rogers, was well known locally and did several Colonial Revival homes in the area.
