About the construction

Description: This gable front and wing Folk House house has pedimented window hoods and pseudo-brick siding. The porch, with wood supports on a brick base, appears to have been added at a later date
Date Of Construction: ca. 1867
Context: This house, seen on the 1872 Birds Eye map, was formerly 213 N. Harris. Peter and Caroline Bernard are listed at this address in 1916. Caroline (wid.Peter) is listed in the 1926 and 1941 city directories, as is Edward (probably a son), a tinner for Muir Hardware, and Mary. The assesor's files show Edward Bernard as the owner in 1947 and 1963.
