About the construction

Description: This two- story frame gable front and wing Folk House has a two- story addition on the east facade and an aluminum sided one-story addition on the west and south facades. Beneath the gabled dormer in the wing is a new entry porch with turned supports. Detached garage.
Date Of Construction: ca. 1885
Context: This site was formerly 104 W. Bennett. Other than identification of the house on 1888-1928 Sanborn maps, nothing has been found about the inhabitants of the house until about 1920 when the name William McAllister is crossed out on a map, and Frank Davis name is written in. Frank and Nancy Davis also appear on tax rolls and in city directories until the 1940s when Fred and Daisy Harrison occupied the house. It is currently being remodeled by Dennis Rogers. Mr. Roger's grandfather, Elwood Rogers, played a significant role in building several early Saline houses.
