About the construction

Description: Two story, gable front, Folk House. Partial width porch with wood supports. One story addition to north facade. Windows are two lights over two. Stone foundation. Aluminum siding. Brick chimney on south facade. Two car garage at rear.
Date Of Construction: 1880 Ca.
Context: This house was probably built about 1880 by Albert H. and Samantha Harris, both 34 years old. They owned the house through 1906. Lewelling (retired farmer) and Mary Jane Rogers owned the house in 1910, and lived there through 1920. Sela and Eva Fitzgerald owned the house thrrough 1935. Sela was the deputy sheriff, and manager of the Saline Opera House. Albert and Helen Jantz owned the house in 1947, and Nelson Jantz is the current owner. The house was aluminum sided in 1947.
