About the construction

Description: Gable front and wing Folk House. Gable section is two stories, and wing is one story. Enclosed porch across wing. Brick chimney on north facade of wing. Addition to rear of wing, and two story addition to rear of gable section. Small, red wood outbuilding at rear of house. Rectangular window opening (no glass).
Date Of Construction: 1870 ca.
Context: The Lutz name is on property on Monroe on the 1874 atlas (C. Lutz), and the 1895 atlas (J. Lutz). Jacob and Elizabeth Lutz lived in the house from at least 1894-1926 (Jacob died about 1918, and Elizabeth ived with her son, Arthur). Jacob Lutz was the sextant at Oakwood Cemetery. Henry and Florence Cornish owned the house from at least 1931-1941. The newer addition was built in 1955.
