About the construction

Description: Two and a half story, Queen Anne style house. Hipped roof with lower cross gables. Wrap around porch has wrought iron supports. Pediment on porch roof with stylized sunburst. Upper gables have fishscale shingles, two small windows, and stylized sunbursts in peaks. Large single paned window in south (front) facade with a narrow rectanglular window above. Black shutters on front facade. Small, rear entry porch has spindlework supports and frieze. Two story addition to rear. Single car, hipped roof garage at rear.
Date Of Construction: 1900
Context: Sim Wilson, proprietor of the Saline Observer, lived in the house in 1914. Thomas Henderson owned the house 1920-1935. Fred Niethammer owned it 1941-1947.
