About the construction

Description: Two story, gambrel roof, Dutch Colonial Revival style house. Full width front and back dormers with shed roof. Dormer has two sets of paired windows. One story sunporches on east and west facades with flat roofs. Windows are six lights over one in the upper story, and ten lights over one on the first story. West sunroom has modern windows. Oval louvered attic vents with keystone detailing. Hooded roof over center entry door, and stoop porch with wrought iron railing. Green asbestos siding. Shingle roof. Concrete block foundation. One and a half car garage at rear.
Date Of Construction: 1926
Context: Kit House: Sears "Puritan". William Westrick was the original owner, followed by Ray Niles. Owen Hoeft became the owner in 1947, and remained there for 43 years. In 1985 Jon Reynolds bought the house. The sunroom on the west facade was originally a porte-cochere, and later enclosed. A 1964 photo shows a gallery rail over the sunroom.
