- Context
- The house was built by Sam and Olga Lambarth between 1922-1925. Sam was the manager of the lumber division of Saline Mercantile. Before that, he was a member of Matt Rentschler's carpenter crew, and helped to build many of the barns and houses in the surrounding area. From 1938-1965, Sam operated Lambarth Brothers Hardware, with his brother Reuben. Sam died in 1975, and Olga lived in the house until 1976. The Lambarth house was featured in a 1955 short film on Stewardship made for the local churches. Norman Madison bought the house in 1976, and Thomas Smith owned the house after Mr. Madison.
