About the construction

Description: Two and a half story, side gabled, Folk Victorian style house. Two gabled dormers in roof. Partial width porch with spindlework supports, frieze, and balustrade. Shed roof on front (east) facade. Windows are one light over one. Stone foundation. Modern siding. Two story addition to rear.
Date Of Construction: 1893-99
Context: According to an old picture dated 1892, a smaller house was moved back on the lot, and the present house was built by John Frank. The house appears on the 1893 Sanborn map in a different shape than the 1899 map, therefore the house was probably built 1893-1899. George Heimendinger and his wife, Elizabeth bought the house around 1920. George died before 1926, and Elizabeth lived there until at least 1947. Ben Shedd owned the house after the Heimendingers.
