- Combat of Romans and Dacians (after a relief on the Arch of Constantine, Rome)
- Artist
- Nicolas Beatrizet
- Physical Description
- This engraving reproduces a relief sculpture from the second century CE of Roman soldiers under Emperor Trajan conquering the Dacians in what is today Romania. The sculpture was later removed from its original monument built to honor Trajan and incorporated into the Arch of Constantine, erected in Rome by the emperor Constantine between 312 and 315.
- The relief depicts mounted Roman soldiers, dressed in their characteristic armor and helmets, surging to the left and right from the center of the scene. A group of soldiers sounding horns stands in their midst. The Romans' vanquished Dacian foes lie trampled beneath the horses' hooves.

- Illumination de la Grande Cascade de Saint Cloud
- Artist
- Philbert-Louis Debucourt
- Physical Description
- This colored etching with aquatint depicts a night scene of a large illuminated cascade of fountains. A raised architectural structure with three arches is placed in the center left of the composition. A series of cascades descend from this structure and lead into a pool of water decorated with a series of geyser fountains spouting water upward. Many small groups of figures in elegant costumes are gathered around the water. Their costumes appear to be hand painted in pink, blue, white and black wash. The upper third of the image is devoted to the dark night sky.

- Varahi
- Artist
- Artist Unknown, India, Tamil Nandu, Kanchipuran
- Physical Description
- Varahi has a crowned boar’s head on a woman’s body. She sits with her ankles crosses and originally had four arms, the back two have broken away as has the front right hand which had probably been held up in a reassuring gesture. Her left from hand is held down at her left knee with the palm held facing out in a gesture of giving. Her body is softly modeled with a narrow waist and full breasts. She wears jewelry that is in sharp but low relief and includes a series of necklaces forming a collar of decoration and a longer one that falls between her breasts which suggests the sacred thread extending down to her waist at her right. She is naked from the waist up and the lower garment is merely suggested by the heavier folds at the waist. Her head is tilted and her chin/snout had jutted out to the left, but the lower snout is broken away. She wears a conical crown that accents the long diagonal of her face. Originally there was an arch behind the image which would have supported her back arms, so the image would have appeared denser, with only the cut away empty space to the sides of her waist.

- Untitled
- Artist
- André Masson
- Physical Description
- This abstracted drawing in black ink contains a series of lines and shapes that evoke a sense of motion from the upper right to the lower left of the composition. Long parallel lines on a diagonal from the top right to bottom left reinforce this sense of movement. Swirling abstracted forms surround these lines and the composition is speckled with very fine splatterings of ink throughout.

- Geese and Reeds (two of a pair)
- Artist
- Ki-hun Yang
- Physical Description
- A grounded and a flying goose is paired in both paintings, creating a contrast of stillness and movement. A goose swoops into the scene from the top left, while the neck of the grounded goose follows a graceful curve to look at the approaching bird. The swaying reeds and grass around the grounded goose add lightness to the composition. Between the two geese are three lines of calligraphy.

- Lynn Davis
- Physical Description
- An interesting composition, rather than a typical portrait shot, the right side is of a man's back, facing the woman and reaching towards her. The woman, wearing a short haircut and a black and white dress looks up to him. Due to the pair's dress, they are possibly at a formal event, also suggested by the pole and velvet rope seen in the bottom left corner.
