- This print is a vertical rectangle in tones of grey, brown, beige. The area within the rectangle looks like the surface of a granite rock or boulder.
- Subject Matter
- This print is one of 362 lithographs, sorted into 24 albums, done by Dubuffet during the years 1958-1962, titled "Les Phonomenes". He used this massive series of lithographs to experiment with techniques such as, mixing incompatible inks, adding acid to the zinc plate and combining previously used black and white plates to create color prints. "Faste" (meaning "pomp") was done in August 1959 and included in "Spectacles" the seventh album of this series.
