A kabuki actor in ornate dress, with his lips pulled down in a frown and eyes glaring upward. His left hand grasps the end of a sword and cartouches hover above his head.
Subject Matter
Hirosada was best known for his ?kubi-e (large head) prints. This image is in keeping with the genre, though the actor remains unnamed.
