[1] AES, DNA RG 60. Lincoln's endorsement appears on a letter from William H. Wallace, Washington, April 12, 1865: ``I would respectfully recomend Milton Kelley of Idaho for the position of Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the Territory of Idaho, made vacant by the resignation of Samuel C Parks.'' Kelley was nominated by President Johnson on December 20, 1865, and was confirmed by the Senate on January 15, 1866.
