I know nothing of Col. Briscoe; nor have I taken any supervision in the organization of Hancock's new Corps.  Hence I submit these papers to the Sec. of War, simply remarking that they seem to be good and ample. A. LINCOLN

 AES, owned by Verne Miners, Chicago, Illinois. Lincoln's endorsement has been removed from attendant papers. Colonel James C. Briscoe of the One Hundred Ninety-ninth Pennsylvania Volunteers was brevetted brigadier general from March 13, 1865.
 The First Army Corps was reorganized under the command of Major General Winfield S. Hancock, November 28, 1864.
