To Jonathan Haines [1]

Jonathan Haines, Esq Springfield,
Dear Sir: March 27. 1858

This morning, on coming home, I found your letter of the 22nd.

As to Rugg, [2] I would do nothing now till the suit we have tried, is disposed of fully, or, at least, more fully than it is.

Page  437As to a suit against Many, [3] I really can not find time to prepare such a suit, until the Spring courts are over. Yours truly

[1]   ALS, IHi.

[2]   George H. Rugg. See letter of November 24, 1856, supra.

[3]   Although the spelling is clearly ``Many,'' Lincoln may refer to John H. Manny (see letter of July 23, 1855).
