[1]   AL-P, ISLA. Several of these invitations in Lincoln's handwriting are extant, photostats of two being in the files: one addressed to Adolph F. C. Mueller, representative in the legislature from Cook County, and another to Edward R. Thayer, Springfield businessman. Orville H. Browning's Diary records under date of ``[1857]---Thursday Feby 5 . . . At night attended a large & pleasant party at Lincoln's.''
