[1]   ALS-P, ISLA. Charles Hoyt was a prominent merchant and mill owner at Aurora, Illinois. In July 1850, Lincoln had represented Hoyt in an important lawsuit involving a patent on a water wheel. Hoyt replied on November 20 and 27 giving the information Lincoln requested (DLC-RTL).
