I have talked with Peters;2Jump to section and he is not certain; but inclines to re[me]mber that you were present when the deed was made. That wont do. Turner writes me that he has found out where Bradshaw is. Do you know what he will swear? Better go right to Turner, & takes [sic] measures to get Bradshaw's deposition. I write to Turner by this mail. Yours truly A. LINCOLN---

[2] Judge Onslow Peters, before whom the deed in question had been executed, according to Adams. Adams maintained he was not present himself, and suggested that Peters could verify the fact.
