Dear Sir: Your letter of the 19th. was received day before yesterday. The payee of the note did write me that he had written Allard2Jump to section on the subject of the note in your hands; so that when Allard shows you the letter, you need not doubt its genuineness. If the letter does, unconditionally, or only with the condition of my consent, agree to take $110 and my fee, settle the matter that way. As to the amount of my fee, take ten dollars, which you and I will divide equally. Yours as ever A. LINCOLN---
