[1]   ALS-P, ISLA. Josiah B. Herrick had resided in Vandalia, but accepted a position on the faculty of the Rush Medical College in Chicago, where his brother William B. Herrick was professor of anatomy. He was succeeded in 1850 by Dr. Joseph W. Freer in his position as ``demonstrator of anatomy.''
