[2] Kellogg wrote on April 4, asking Lincoln to ascertain why he had not heard from the patent office in regard to two deeds sent for recording---the deeds being from William Wilcox to S.M. Whipple for the right of Colburn's Improved Iron Pump to several states and territories.
