Concerning Expenditures for Public Printing [1]

December 19, 1840

Resolved, That a select committee be appointed to enquire into the causes which have produced the very large expenditure for thePage  222

item of public printing, and they be instructed to report a bill to the House having for its object the reduction of that item of expenditure, if in their judgment such reduction can be had without detriment to the public interest.
