Rome; Tomb of a youth called Sulpicius Maximus, on the southern side of the Porta Salaria, excavated in 1871. A cippus with the figure of the defunct attired in toga, with two long inscriptions, one of either side of the niche, consisting of a prize poem in fortythree hexameter verses, which he had improvised at eleven years of age, in the Capitoline competition, in the time of Domitian.
