Fragment of yellowed woven wool fabric with a very small amount of blue/purple weft in one corner. Three edges appear to have been folded and sewn. The fragment is opened and flat now but some remnants of stitches are present.
Fragment of brown/gold woven wool fabric with a ribbed selvedge along one edge. There area few red wefts in the selvedge. There arealso tiny remnants of linen stitches.
Three fragments of woven fabric sewn together. Fragment A is undyed linen, B and C are yellowed wool. There is a plain selvedge along one edge of fragment A.
The above length measurement is for the largest section of this fragment. There is alsoa 3.5 cm x 4 cm fragment which has broken away from the main piece. The larger fragment is part of a sprang cap with red as the main element with red and brown/gold decorative elements. Part of the meeting line and closing cord are present. The closing cord is at least 25 cm long.
Fragment of a sprang cap made of red wool with green and brown/gold decorative elements. Two drawstring cords are present in loops at the edge of the sprang. There is alsoa small remnant of the sewn on border which was tied to one end of the thicker cord. The thicker drawstring cord is 17.5 cm long, the thinner cord is 28.5 cm long. The section of sewn on border is 7 cm long.
Fragment of orange/red sprang cap with green and gold decoration. The meeting line and part of the closing cord are very well preserved. Most of the drawstring is present and has been passed through loops at one end of the cap where it was doubled and crossed over itself. The drawstring has been knotted in two places. A remnant of one side seam is present.

Three fragments of very similar yellowed woven wool fabric sewn together. Fragment C, the largest fragment, has a purple pinstripe approximately in the center. The pinstripe is 6 picks wide, 0.1 cm.
The above measurements are for the piece asa whole and do not reflect warp and weft directions of constituent textile fragments. This item is made up of several fragments sewn together to form a pad. Regularly spaced rows of linen running stitches sew the pieces together. Starting on the top, where the red and green fragments are visible, the fragments areas follows:
A - fine yellow warp and weft, evenly woven
B - fine brown warp and red/purple weft with 0.5 cm wide brown band.
C - fine yellow warp and green weft
D - brown/gold warp and weft
E - yellow warp with 5.5 cm yellow band and 9.5 cm purple band.
F - several yellow warp and weft fragments
G - yellow warp and weft, unevenly woven
All have z-twist wefts andall but one (fragment E) have s-twist warps)
Large fragment of a yellowed sprang cap with decorations along each side in blue/black and red. The meeting line is intact with a very worn closing cord inside. There is a small (6 cm long) section of a braided sewn on border. There are remnants of several very thick linen stitches.
Fragment of woven wool fabric with yellowed warp and weft anda band of brown weft with several picks of yellow. The band is 1.5 cm wide and is approximately in the center. Just below the band there is a row of tapestry leaf shapes. Between the leaves are square slit tapestry elements. There are remnants of selvedges along both edges.
Fragment of yellowed woven wool fabric with much smaller fragments of, probably, the same fabric sewn on at one edge. There is a very small amount of purple weft in the sewn on fragment.
Three fragments of yellowed woven wool fabric sewn together. Fragment A has a purple tapestry band 3.8 cm wide. The purple weft is discontinuous with points which end in dovetailing and slits. There is a very small amount of purple weft at one end of fragment B, also. There are very small remnants of linen yarns (weft-wrapping?) in each of the purple sections. Fragment C has yellow warp and weft and was sewn on at right angles to the other two fragments.
Large fragment of a sprang cap in two natural brown wools. There are several areas where repairs have been made with brown/gold yarn. There is a thick 2-ply cord embedded in the sprang at one corner.

At least nine fragments of woven wool fabric sewn together to form a pad. At least three have some linen tapestry or weft-wrapping elements. The layers are sewn together with linen yarn. The above measurements do not reflect warp and weft directions. Some of the fragments were sewn at right angles to each other. One fragment has a ribbed selvedge, another has a twined border.

fragment B - beige warp and weft
fragment C - pale brown warp and weft, perpendicular to fragments B & C
fragment D - pale brown warp and weft with ribbed selvedge
