Fragment A is a long narrow piece of yellowed woven wool fabric with two other, very similar fabrics (B & C) attached by sewing. All three fragments have a 0.5 cm wide blue weft band.
Two rows of stitches were used to secure the two smaller pieces to fragment A in a “flat felled seam”. Most are running stitches andare visible from only one side of the fabric. The stitches measure from 0.3 cm to 0.7 cm long. An extra row of overcast stitches along fragment B is visible from both sides. There is an overhand knot at one end of this section. The stitches measure from 0.4 cm to 1 cm long.
Condition
Somewhat dirty, very worn. Fragment A has several interior holes. All three fragments have damaged wefts. Most edges are frayed.

Small fragment of brown/gold woven wool fabric with a row of stitches along each warp-wise edge. At one corner, what may have been another woven fabric has wrapped aroundand become felted to this fragment.
There are two rows of linen running stitches, each next to a warp-wise edge. The stitches measure 0.7 cm along one side. There are only two intact stitches along the other side, these measure 0.4 cm and 0.5 cm long.
Condition
Somewhat dirty and very worn. There is one interior hole and several areas of damaged yarns that have become matted. Edges are frayed and some of the fibers have become matted.
Fairly clean, but worn. Some small remnants of yarn and some plant material have adhered to the surface. Several warps are missing near the center of the fragment. Edges are frayed.

A weft-wise edge was folded twice and sewn with overcast stitches that encircle the outside edge. These stitches measure from 0.3 cm to 0.7 cm long.
Condition
Very dirty, with some encrusted mud. There are many small pieces of wool and linen yarns, as well as one piece of goat hair yarn that have adhered to the surface. There is one small interior hole and there are several large edge tears. Weft edges are frayed.
Linen overcast stitches run warpwise andattach the smaller fragment. Most of these stitches are 0.2 cm long. A shorter row of, probably, the same yarn appears only in the attached piece. These stitches measure from 0.4 cm to 0.5 cm long.

A weft-wise edge was folded twice and sewn with overcast stitches that encircle the outside edge. These single stitches measure from 0.2 cm to 1.3 cm long. A tuck was made on anangle, more or less warp-wise. One edge was secured with thicker single overcast stitches that measure from 0.3 cm to 0.6 cm long. The other edge was secured with single green overcast stitches that measure from 0.1 cm to 0.4 cm long.
Condition
Somewhat dirty and worn. There are two small interior holes and several edge tears.
Somewhat dirty with a very small area of encrusted mud. Worn, with several small interior holes and much larger edge tears. There is some edge fraying.
A row of overcast stitches secures the tuck in the fabric. These stitches measure from 0.3 cm to 0.5 cm long.

Very dirty, stiff and brittle. At least half the fragment is stained brown and there are bits of white material that have adhered to the surface. Some loose yarns have become matted.
Small fragment of yellowed woven wool fabric with a 0.3 cm wide blue/green weft band near the center. Eight picks make up the band. One outer pick is slightly darker than the rest. The weft is unevenly spun with low to high twist.
Fragment of dark brown woven goat hair fabric that is almost obscured by thicker brown goat hair stitching. Several small remnants of fabrics have been sewn on one side with thick linen stitches. One is brown/black goat hair, the others are yellow wool and reddish wool. One yellow remnant was folded and sewn with finer linen yarn, possibly the remnant of a hem. 12588b may have been attached to this fragment at one time.
Balanced plain weave. The small wool remnants attached to the fragment are mostly weft predominant plain weave.
Sewing
This fragment may have been folded over. Details are obscured. A somewhat lighter brown 2-ply goat hair yarn wraps around two edges and covers much of the woven fabric. Coarse linen stitches make three straight lines across the fragment. The stitches measure from 0.4 cm to 1.5 cm. One of the small remnants attached to the fragment was folded and stitched with fine linen overcast stitches that measure from 0.3 cm to 0.5 cm long.
