Pileus 3-8 cm broad, convex, expanding, subumbonate or obtuse, white and unicolorous except for superficial numerous golden yellow ("apricot yellow") floccose granules on the margin or over all at first, viscid when moist, shining when dry, margin at first involute and white floccose-tomentose. Context white, thick, soft; odor and taste not distinctive. Lamellae decurrent, white or with yellow powder on the edges, intervenose, distant, moderately broad. Stipe 3-8 cm long, 6-12(18) mm thick, white, apex with yellow floccules which may form an imperfect zone or ring, equal, viscid, stuffed. Spores 7-9(10) x 3.5-4.5(5),u, ellipsoid, often inequilateral, at times curved at the apiculus, smooth, pale yellow in Melzer's reagent, white in mass. Basidia 40 54 x 6-8 v,, 4-spored.
