ï~~ Tn'1 Minutes of a meeting of the Department of Health of the State of New Jersey, convened in the State House, Trenton, December 3, 1918'. I The fol lowing rnemb ers were present: Messrs. Chew, Kelly, Lee, McDonald and Spence. The minutes of the meeting of November 26, 191, were approved. The President appointed either Dr. Lee or Dr. McDonald to attend the meeting of the Ameri can Publio Health Assooiation to be held in Chicago next week, the ex of the trip to be paid from the appropriations of the Department. It was understood that Dr. Lee would attend the mee ting, but if he found it impossible Dr. McDonald would go in his place. te nt i on was made of' the fLact t hat the Federal Railroad Administration had given notice that all railroad passes in the State would be withdrawn on January 1, 1919. After discussion of the question- it was decided that the Director communicate with the Secretary of State, informing him that the members of this Department use their passes in attending meetings of the Departmient and asking if it will be considered a reasonable charge if the members put in bills for railroad fares in attending meetings of the Department if said passes are withdrawn. Report as presented by Mr. Croft to the effect that a sewerage system with sewage treatment plant is being onnstruoted by the Emergency Fleet Corporation of the United States Shipping Board at Noreg, Centre Township, Cainden County, without first submitting plans of the same to this Department f or approval. It was further stated that it Is ~pr oposed t o dis charge the e f fluent frocm this sewage t reatment. plant int o Little j ~Timber Creek, a tributary of the Delaware River. After consideration of the question, Dr. Spence moved that Mr. W. J. Wedow,:epresentative of the' Emergency Fleet Corporation of the United States Shipping Board, at Noreg, be cited to appear before the Department at two P.M., December 17, 191', to show cause why this Departmen should not apply to the.oourts throegh the Attorney General for a restraining order to prevent further onlstruction on this;sewerage system and sewage disposkl plant This motion was carried. For the purpose of record Mr. Croft reported that the Wanaque River Paper Co has presented plans for an experimental plant for the treatment of wastes fro the plant of said company, This report was received with the understanding that the Bureau of Engineering will watch the work of this experimental plant to se Ef it is sat i sf act ory.
