by government officials for investigation in connection with a slacker

William Arthur Mixon, alias Lee, alleged tio be wanted by Los Angeles
and San Francisco authorities on the
charge of the theft of more then
$3,000 worth of diamond. and a $2,000 automobile.
The man is now in the county Jail.
A San Francisco detective is on his
'w:ay bore to investigatc. The prisoner is held on the government
charge sod is not allowed to see anycno. He does not know that other
charges against him are being investigated.
Department of justice officials say
the man had a regietration cord bearIng the name of Mixon, showing that
hie registered June 15, 1917, at Salt
Lake City' and was placed in ciass

It Is said Mixon stole diamonds
valued at more than $3,000 from a
Los Angeles society woman, then
went to San Francisco and purchased a high priced automobile,
paying only. a iew hundred dollars
down on it, and then skipped the
eountry.
