Description

General Description: Scaleless fishes with a spinous ray in the front of the dorsal fin and each pectoral fin; long, sensory barbels around the mouth; an adipose dorsal fin behind the first dorsal fin.
Specific Description: Mottled color pattern; dark saddle of adipose fin does not extend to edge of fin; distal band in dorsal fin; a pair of gold spots on occiput ahead of dorsal fin.

Distribution

Distribution: From Lake St. Clair; Erie tributaries; Ohio drainage; eastern Mississippi drainage.

Ecology

Ecology: In streams and large cold lakes.
