¶ These testi¦monyes followynge of ye newe Testament do not iustly agree in words but in the sence & meaning of the olde Testa∣ment.
The thyrde boke of the Machabees not founde in the Hebrew canons but translated out of the Greke in to Latyn, and taken in the steede of one of the bookes of holy Scripture, worthy to be reade of all godly men, ne¦uer before this set forth in the Engleshe tounge.
