  • John Carteret, Earl Granville's youngest daughter, Lady Sophia Carteret (1745-1771), married William Petty, 2nd Earl of Shelburne, in 1765. The Clements Library has the William Petty, 1st Marquis of Lansdowne, 2nd Earl of Shelburne papers, which include 47 letters from Shelburne to Lady Carteret.

The Clements Library's Antigua collection is made up of miscellaneous official papers relating to the island of Antigua which appear to have come from the office of Joshua Sharpe, solicitor to the Privy Council from 1719 to 1749.
