Aulder M. Watt was born to William S. and Jennie Watt on July 8, 1895, and lived in Clinton, Illinois. He had four younger siblings: Ardath, Edith, Charles, and Nancy. In 1917, Watt served with Company H of the 10th Regiment, Illinois National Guard, at Camp Lincoln, Illinois. He and his wife, Olive I. Stone, were married between 1917 and 1920. The Watts lived in Clinton, where Aulder worked as a building superintendent for the Y.M.C.A., and they had one daughter, Bettie Lou, who died within the year of her birth (1923). Aulder Watt died on November 15, 1971.
