History

The New York State Legislature granted Anthony Dobbin and James Tustin the exclusive right to operate a stagecoach service between Goshen, New York, and New York City on March 30, 1797. The stage was in operation until at least August 1801. The initial license required the coach to travel at least once a week and established other conditions, including price restrictions on fares.
